The Northern Ireland based firm was chosen for the trials earlier this year due to their specialty in manufacturing 100% inline, non-destructive leak detection equipment for sealed packaging. During the trials, the technology was proven to detect and automatically remove 100% of leaking packs, regardless of pack type and gas used. The customers whom partook in the trial commented on the repeatability of the test method to detect leaks as small as 10 microns.
As a result of the success of the trials, Piotec produced a white paper to help customers better understand the importance of leak detection, not only to remove every leaking pack, but to provide management information, and to drive process improvement. The white paper, entitled Achieving Zero Defects in Packaging Seal Quality, has been published online and is also directly available through the company website http://www.piotec.eu
