Successful trials validate innovative leak detection technology

PRLog (Press Release) - Oct. 4, 2011 - Piotec Limited has recently carried out successful trials in the third quarter of 2011 with  British, Irish and Swedish companies. The inline "Seal Plus' machine was put through rigorous testing at the company’s  Warrenpoint headquarters by companies from the UK, Sweden and across Ireland, testing a range of different food products. A major cheese supplier, a global fast food outlet, and a major Swedish fish producer, are amongst those interested to see how Piotec can ensure the seal integrity of their packaging.

The Northern Ireland based firm was chosen for the trials earlier this year due to their specialty in manufacturing 100% inline, non-destructive leak detection equipment for sealed packaging. During the trials, the technology was proven to detect and automatically remove 100% of leaking packs, regardless of pack type and gas used. The customers whom partook in the trial commented on the repeatability of the test method to detect leaks as small as 10 microns.

As a result of the success of the trials, Piotec produced a white paper to help customers better understand the importance of leak detection, not only to remove every leaking pack, but to provide management information, and to drive process improvement.
