Flippin’ Pizza Partners with ‘AJ’s Kids Crane’ to Raise Dough

Oct. 4, 2011 - PRLog -- SAN DIEGO –  Flippin’ Pizza, the North County pizzeria known for its authentic New York style pies and community outreach programs, is supporting Star 94.1 FM’s fundraiser, ‘AJ’s Kids Crane,’ in its efforts to collect more than 106,000 new and unwrapped toys for the kids at Rady Children’s Hospital in San Diego. Throughout the month of October, Flippin’ Pizza’s signature pie, Knockout, will be renamed AJ’s Kids Pie. For every AJ’s Kids Pie sold, Flippin’ Pizza will donate $1 toward purchasing toys for ‘AJ’s Kids Crane.’

Flippin’ Pizza is asking fans to play a vital role in the fundraising efforts by ordering AJ’s Kids Pie, named after Star 94.1 FM’s on-air talent, AJ Machado. Fans can also lend their support by bringing in new and unwrapped toys to any of Flippin’ Pizza’s four North County locations as part of the toy drive.

On Friday, Nov. 4, in the parking lot of IKEA in Mission Valley, ‘AJ’s Kids Crane’ will host a celebration event culminating the toy drive. For the tenth year in a row, Machado will be lifted 60 feet in the air on an 8-foot by 10-foot scissor crane where he will eat, sleep and live until the 106,000 toys are collected.

Flippin’ Pizza fans fear not this is only temporary and no pie was harmed in the renaming. AJ’s Kids Pie will continue to feature the same delicious ingredients as the Knockout pie: pepperoni, meatballs, mushrooms and garlic. As with all Flippin’ Pizza pies, AJ’s Kids Pie will be hand-tossed, with no added oils, no added sugar and no high fructose corn syrup.
