Poll: Should drivers boycott a garage chain while it supports anti driver policy?

A drivers' group is asking drivers if they would consider a boycott of a fuel outlet chain while it persists in supporting anti road transport & driver policy.

Oct. 4, 2011 - PRLog -- Drivers Protest Union, a road safety drivers' group, has set up a poll to see if drivers would consider a boycott of any chain that supported anti driver & flawed road safety policies.

For example: Jet Fuel who are supporters of the inexpert and alleged road safety charity Brake, whose manifesto includes 'Getting drivers from their cars' & 'emissions' neither of which are matters of road safety, also campaign for more prosecutions of perfectly safe drivers by virtue of speed cameras.

Keith Peat, an ex police officer & founder of the D.P.U. says: 'Surely Jet are targeting their own customers like this with ill conceived BRAKE policies? When I see a Jet station it makes me think of Turkeys voting for Christmas all the time'.

The D.P.U have set up the poll to make companies, like Jet, look again at how they use drivers' money. 'They surely should be supporting drivers' groups not anti drivers groups' says Keith.

The D.P.U’s aim is for the 30 million driver voters of the UK to start showing their power when they are united and get the big businesses that depend on the driver to start backing the driver. This poll will give them some idea.  Keith Peat continues ‘But we are also aware that our important work is, so far, not being given the media support it deserves either; this is probably because of the stranglehold of big business interests in driver and road safety issues at the moment but we are very patient. We know there are no other drivers’groups constantly hitting nails squarely on the head or speaking for road safety and drivers so incisively as we are’ he says.
