Family Fun with Harvest Fest 2011 presented by the Kevin Kitchnefsky Foundation

Harvest Fest 2011 takes place-Sunday Oct. 16, 2011-noon until 3:30 at Shadowbrook Resort, Rt. 6, Tunkhannock. Including crafts, a moon walk, pumpkin decorating and food. $5 admission/children. Adults FREE when accompanied by a child.

Oct. 3, 2011 - PRLog -- Tunkhannock, PA--Sunday, October 16th, will host three and a half hours of fall festival fun for children and their families as the Kevin Kitchnefsky Foundation for Spinal Cord Research Harvest Fest presents Harvest Fest at Shadowbrook Inn and Resort, Tunkhannock.  From Noon until 3:30, kids will have a chance to “guess the weight of the giant pumpkin”, take part in the “paint your own pumpkin” contest, and enjoy a variety of crafts including sand art.  Children will also enjoy jumping in the Moon Walk and Face Painting by Lollipop Party Services.  Seasonal Treats like Apple Cider will be on hand along with donuts, cotton candy, and ice-cream. Kids will walk away with a nice bag of goodies including their own homemade crafts after this event. The admission price to take part in these activities is only $5 per child; adults are free when accompanied by their children.  The first 100 paid kids receive a free McDonald’s Happy Meal and a pass to the Shadowbrook Bowling Lanes.  
A true family friendly event, Harvest Fest offers a Chinese Auction featuring an excellent selection of prizes plus a bake sale with incredible made-from-scratch treats including pumpkin bread, pies, and cookies trays. The Columbo Family of Hop Bottom will also have Pony Rides available with all proceeds going to the Kevin Kitchnefsky Foundation.

The Kevin Kitchnefsky Foundation for Spinal Cord Research was incorporated in January of 2000. The only organization of its type in Pennsylvania, to date, the foundation is proud to have risen over $100,000 funds. The primary focus of the Kevin Kitchnefsky Foundation is to raise much-needed funds to support the scientists who are doing the research that will, in time, lead to a cure.  The organization also helps families who have been affected purchase equipment to make their homes or vehicles more handicapped friendly.  To learn more about the foundation or their events, you can call 570-836-1240 or visit their website www.helpkevinwalk.org.
