Oct. 3, 2011 - PRLog -- Another Big win for the film, Community Heroes - “Peaceful Urban Warriors”, at the 2011 Twin Cities Black Film Festival. The film was awarded “Best Documentary” and received rave reviews from the audience as well as the community. “Peaceful Urban Warriors” has won awards at the three festivals it participated in, “Best Documentary” at the 2010 New York International Film Festival,  “Urban Film Award” at the 2010 Atlanta Urban Underground Film Festival and “Best Documentary” at the 2011 Twin Cities Black Film Festival.

The film Peaceful Urban Warriors, takes an in-depth look at the incredible problems of youth violence in Minneapolis’s North-side neighborhoods. Peaceful Urban Warriors goes beyond the headlines and the statistics to highlight real, heart wrenching examples of families that have been torn apart by the violence. Unlike other films however, the film provides hope by highlighting the community heroes that are making a difference in the lives of young people across the city.

“We can all read the headlines, we understand violence is escalating, but what is often missed are all of the people in the community trying to stop it,” Said the films director Dirk Cannon. Community Heroes, "Peaceful Urban Warriors" tries to give those doing the good work in our communities a platform to share their message.” Eagle Heart Productions recently teamed up with Jack Paar, Executive Producer, to distribute the film nationally with the hope of getting awareness out to the public. "The film demonstrates what the problems are and what can be done to end this violence", says Executive Producer Jack Paar of BusyBoy Productions.
