Pacific Gas & Electric Sponsors North Bay iHub

PG&E makes a $25,000 donation to support innovation and entrepreneurship in the North Bay.

Oct. 3, 2011 - PRLog -- Rohnert Park (October 3, 2011) –  Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E) has become one of the North Bay iHub’s primary sponsors with a donation of $25,000 to support innovation and entrepreneurship in the North Bay.  In addition, Kelli Nevin, PG&E Local Government Relations representative for Sonoma and Marin counties, has joined the Board of Directors of the Sonoma Mountain Business Cluster (SMBC).

“PG&E is a strong supporter of job creation,” Nevin said. “The North Bay iHub has the breadth of vision and community partnerships to make a real difference in driving innovation and investment in the region.”

One of the key rationales for California’s iHub program is to develop a network of partnerships spanning public and private organizations in support of job creation through innovation.  Michael Newell, Executive Director of SMBC, believes that the developing partnership with PG&E exemplifies the potential of the iHub to bring together diverse community resources for job creation.

“We are extremely pleased to be able to add PG&E to the growing list of organizations contributing substantially to our mission,” Newell said. “The high level of commitment to job creation that we are seeing speaks well for the region’s future.”

SMBC is the coordinating organization for the North Bay iHub, developing strategic partnerships in the Sonoma-Marin-Napa area for the purpose of promoting innovation and providing resources to entrepreneurs.
