Cover Story of the October, 2011 Airplanista Magazine Presents EAA Young Eagles Program

A Special Report on Aviation's Next Generation features an in-depth look at the Experimental Aircraft Associations Young Eagles Program in the October, 2011 issue of Airplanista Magazine

Oct. 3, 2011 - PRLog -- The highly-successful Young Eagles Program, developed and managed by the Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) is the main article in a Special Report on “Aviation’s Next Generation” in the October issue of Airplanista Magazine.

"There is no greater responsibility for a pilot than to introduce young people to our glorious aviation world,” said Airplanista Editor/Publisher Dan Pimentel. “EAA’s Young Eagles Program is the best thing general aviation has to spark interest in the minds of young people and get them to start thinking about becoming a pilot later in life. The program is a brilliant tool we aviators have to make sure new pilots are coming into the system as older ones lose their FAA medical certificates and can no longer fly."

The Young Eagles Program has been responsible for taking 1.6 million young people up for introductory flights worldwide. These flights are flown my volunteer pilots, who spend their own money on fuel and aircraft costs to make the dreams to fly possible. The program also has a solid aviation curriculum at its core, and offers an almost endless menu of educational opportunities.
