By: ASLA Georgia Chapter Georgia Chapter of American Society of Landscape Architects Elects New Leadership. WHAT: The 360+ membership of the Georgia Chapter of the American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA-GA) has elected new leadership for the 2011-2012 Executive Committee. The Executive Committee seeks to further the goals of the Chapter through organization of continuing educational opportunities, efforts to increase Chapter membership, legislative outreach, the dissemination of meaningful information to Chapter members, and by seeking to increase participation of young landscape architects within the organization. This year’s executive committee will take over after the National ASLA conference on November 2nd. The executive committee for the 2011-2012 year is: Chapter Trustee: Gregg Hudspeth, ASLA, LEED AP (Atlanta) Chapter Past-President: (Reece, Hoopes & Fincher, Inc. – Atlanta) Chapter President: Scott Jones, ASLA (Site Solutions – Atlanta) Chapter President-Elect: (Atlanta BeltLine, Inc. – Atlanta) Chapter Secretary: Dennis Decker, ASLA (TYLIN International – Atlanta) Chapter Treasurer: David Gjertson, ASLA (Atlanta) Chapter Treasurer-Elect: (LAND Architect Studio LLC – Atlanta) Atlanta Section Chair: Joni Payne Young, ASLA (Young Squared Studios, LLC – Atlanta) Northeast Georgia Section Chair: Brian LaHaie, ASLA (University of Georgia – College of Environment and Design – Athens) Savannah Section Chair: Chuck Taylor, ASLA (Georgia Southern University – Statesboro) Member at Large – Membership: Madie Fischetti, ASLA (University of Georgia – College of Environment and Design – Athens) Member at Large – Communications and Website: Jonathan Young, ASLA (Quercus, LLC – Atlanta) Member at Large – Advocacy: Andrew Kohr, ASLA (Robert and Company – Atlanta) Public Relations Chair - Tanya Mandel, ASLA (Kern-Coleman & Company., LLC – Savannah) Several volunteers have also come forward within the Chapter to provide expertise and support throughout the coming year.
