Follow on Google News | 2nd Annual Swing for Autism Golf Tournament and Celebration to Be Held at the Coto de Caza Golf ClubThe golf outing, dinner and awards event will benefit grade 6 to 12+ students with high-functioning autism and Asperger Syndrome at New Vista School.
By: Firm Media The 2011 Swing for Autism scramble tournament will be held on November 28, 2011, the Monday following Thanksgiving. Registration is at 8:30 a.m. and tee time is scheduled for 10:15 a.m. Registration fee for singles is $260 and $1,000 for a foursome. A 10 percent discount is available for those who register prior to October 1. Registered participants will be provided breakfast, lunch and dinner. Non-golfers may join the after-tournament celebration, silent auction and awards dinner for $75 a couple and $40 for Individuals. Participants will golf the north course at Coto de Caza Golf & Racquet Club. This course was designed by Robert Trent Jones, Jr.and was named one of the nation’s top 25 courses by Golf Digest. The south course will also be available for tournament participants, depending on turnout. Dinner will be catered by Wahoo’s Fish Taco and beverages will be sponsored by Crown Imports. Events following the golf tournament include a silent auction, awards ceremony and a helicopter golf ball drop raffle. Golf ball entries for the raffle can be purchased from New Vista School students during or prior to the golf tournament for $10 each; winners are not required to be present at the event. “The tournament allows community members the opportunity to play golf on one of the country's best private, invitation-only courses. But more importantly, participants get to learn more about how New Vista School touches the lives of its students,” said event co-chair Merritt Weiss. “Last year was a huge success—the golfers loved it, the sponsors loved it and best of all, the kids loved it.
