Endeca Announces Endeca Latitude® ReportBuilder for Excel®

PRLog (Press Release) - Oct. 3, 2011 - London, UK – October 3, 2011 – Endeca Technologies, Inc., an agile information management software company, today announced the availability of Microsoft® Excel-based managed reporting within Endeca Latitude®, the company’s agile BI platform. This is the first offering that allows scheduled reporting on top of semi-structured content, without the need to first build a data warehouse or data mart.

Endeca Latitude users can now extend their ability to explore and discover enterprise information of all kinds with the new ability to share information broadly using Microsoft Excel, the world’s most ubiquitous BI tool. Unlike traditional BI technologies, Endeca Latitude offers managed reporting for content beyond the warehouse. This means organisations can share insights into structured, semi-structured, and unstructured content that are too expensive or too time consuming to first integrate into a data warehouse or data mart. This dramatically decreases the time and cost to gain insight into data throughout the organisation. In addition, the reports generated with Latitude give users interactive access to data, unlike the static-only views offered by traditional reports. This makes it possible to discover new insights, share them broadly, and allow colleagues to continue with their own data explorations.

Endeca Latitude ReportBuilder for Excel makes it possible for skilled Microsoft Excel users to build enterprise-wide reports. Users can schedule reports for defined distribution lists, and IT can control access to data to follow corporate governance policies with authoritative data.
