Sunil Kale plays with brush-strokes on various media to express the fundamentals of nature. Doing so, the artist has developed his unique way of expression. The spontaneous flow of the surroundings, the nature; the cliffs, ravines, waterfalls, streams, fog and the mist have been his inspiration. For the fifteen day long exhibition, Sunil Kale is bringing some soothing canvases.
Romantic rains, the milky fog and mist, deep blue valleys, the sky-kissing silver oaks and age-old Bunyan trees; the dense-shadowed streets, painted in water, acrylic and pastels, are the elements that one can experience in his collection. “Over the years, I have felt satisfaction in painting landscapes and different forms of nature. This is because I feel very closely related to nature, and there has always been a continuous interaction between us.” shares Kale.
A closer look at his canvases would bring forth stark lighting, bold brush-strokes and strong colours. The subtle interplay between light, colour and shadow has been captured beautifully and poignantly in all his works. The highlights are vibrant, causing the pictures to glow, and one often finds oneself expecting the light to spill out of the pictures to bathe the real world in softer tones.
