The perfect venue? In an office park? Absolutely!
While serving as an impressive corporate lobby during the week, the atrium, with its dramatic sweep of floor to ceiling glass, now offers a spectacular backdrop of gardens and highway for ceremonies and receptions. Providing an “outdoor” feeling indoors, brides can enjoy the sense of being surrounded by nature, regardless of the weather on the day they take their vows.
The atrium’s wide-open space leaves ample room for dining and dancing, and the staircase landing in the center doubles as a platform for speeches and announcements. The venue can accommodate up to 250 for a seated dinner.
Although it has been welcoming business visitors to TradeCenter 128 since 2008, the atrium is just now being made available as a wedding venue, and recently hosted its first receptions. It has also been utilized for a number of political functions, and will be included in Beacon’s offerings for holiday parties.
According to Denise McKeown, Beacon Grille’s event planner, “We are delighted to have access to this beautiful space. It is a perfect fit for weddings, and we anticipate lots of demand once couples learn it is an option.”
A second collaboration between the destination restaurant and well-known business park is the new addition of an arbor and several benches on the banks of the campus pond, making a charming venue for intimate ceremonies. Accented by spring flowers, summer greenery, or fall foliage, it also offers a scenic spot for photos of the wedding party.
The arbor is just steps away from the atrium as well as Beacon Grille’s four other private dining rooms, located inside the restaurant at 400 TradeCenter.
Understated elegance
McKeown says the atrium and pondside venue appeal to the “non-traditional bride.”
“Our brides don’t want that function hall feel, but instead are looking for something unique and elegant,” she said. “They are delighted to see the natural settings provided by the arbor and atrium, and they appreciate an alternative to typical wedding venues.”
