Ms. Bell comes to the Wartburg from Aging in America/Morningside House Nursing Home, a large not-for-profit service provider in the Bronx, where she served as the Vice President of Human Resources for nine years. With over 25 years of experience in human resources and labor relations, she brings a wide range of expertise to the position. During her career Dorothea has worked in several major New York City medical facilities including St. Luke’s/Roosevelt Medical Center, Our Lady of Mercy Medical Center (now Montefiore) and Catholic Medical Centers of Brooklyn and Queens, where she was the Regional Director for Human Resources. Ms. Bell earned a B.A. in Social Psychology from Binghamton University, an M.S. in Human Resource Management and Certification in Long Term and Post-Acute Care Administration from Iona College, where she graduated with honors. She holds Certifications in Labor Relations and Dispute Resolution-EEOC and the Law from the Cornell School of Industrial Labor Relations and has attended The Wharton School for Executive Education. Ms. Bell is a native New Yorker who is married with 2 sons, currently residing in New Rochelle, New York.
