Sept. 30, 2011 - PRLog -- NEW BRUNSWICK, N.J. – Effective immediately, the New Jersey Real Estate Commission (NJREC) requires that licensed real estate professionals, including brokers, broker-salespersons and salespersons, complete continuing education requirements as a condition of biennial licensure renewal. NAIOP New Jersey’s October 4 seminar, Social Media for Commercial Real Estate Professionals, has been approved for two MCE (Mandatory Continuing Education) credits.

A minimum of 12 credit hours of MCE credit are now required for professional licensure renewal on July 1, 2013 and each biennial renewal thereafter. The association has also applied for the October 4 seminar to offer two Continuing Legal Education (CLE) credits to attorneys.

"The association is in the process of applying for Continuing Education Units [CEU] accreditation for many of the professions with the real estate industry," said Mark Russo, NAIOP NJ's education coordinator. "This will allow brokers, salespeople, attorneys, and other professionals to earn the required credits by attending the association's seminars on an ongoing basis."

"As we continue to build NAIOP NJ's continuing education program, our seminars and other events will be increasingly vital, not only from the standpoint of keeping current with this evolving industry, but also in our members' continued licensure," said Russo. "We will continue to provide updates on the certification status for our educational seminars, as well as registering the chapter as a certified CEU instructor."

At the upcoming October 4 seminar, slated for the Eisenhower Corporate Campus in Livingston, N.J., attendees will learn why no one in any business sector can afford to ignore social media and its impact. The program will explore the whys, hows, ethics, and pitfalls of integrating social media into an effective marketing and communications strategy.

Presenters will include Moderator Galit Kierkut, partner, Greenbaum Rowe Smith & Davis; Caryl Bixon-Gordon, president of Caryl Communications, Inc.; Jonathan Schein, general manager, Commercial Real Estate Group, Penton Media; and Timothy White, vice president-public affairs, Beckerman Public Relations. The seminar is open to members and non-members: register now at www.naiopnj.org. To learn more about CEUs, please visit www.naiopnj.org/ceu.
