Sept. 29, 2011 - PRLog -- (HOUSTON) – The Pinot’s Palette 2nd Annual Art Tasting Fundraiser (http://www.PinotsPalette.com/Art-Tasting), held at the Pinot’s Palette art studios in Houston, Texas on September 16 and 17, 2011 was certainly an event to remember. Beyond the myriad of activities celebrating art and the surrounding community, the Art Tasting event also marked the 1st Anniversary of Pinot’s Palette Galleria location. Over $3,000 in proceeds were raised over the course of the two of evenings to benefit the Breast Health Collaborative of Texas.

The event kicked off on Friday, September 16, with a VIP Preview night at the Pinot’s Palette Montrose studio location. The event was sold out at 50 people, although Marketing Director, Mari Sokolowski, allowed an additional walk in squeeze in the door, “It’s nearly impossible to turn people away when all of the festivities are benefitting charity. I just wanted to make sure we would have enough art supplies, food and drinks for everyone!”

Friday night guests enjoyed complimentary valet services, take home eco-bags from CultureMap, music by 103.7 FM, door prizes, 8 x 8 inch self-guided painting activities, “Around The World” wine tasting from The Tasting Room, Saint Arnold beer and food from Freebirds. Neighboring business, Ziggy’s and Boheme, joined in the festivities by offering $20 gift cards in the raffle to host after parties for the event, which ended at 8 p.m. Other raffle prizes included tickets to Houston Wine Fest, Best Fest (Houston Press) and Houston Cellar Classic (The Tasting Room), Freebirds burritos, and Pinot’s Palette gift certificates.

The event continued the following night, September, 17, 2011, at the Pinot’s Palette Galleria studio location. Over 170 guests packed into the spacious studio which was deconstructed to make additional room for the eager guests.  Guest this evening could participate in large collaborative paintings (later auctioned off in a live bidding session) and for an additional $10 donation could treat themselves to a 8” x 8” self-guided painting activity.

Throughout the evening guests could replenish their beverages at the open bar with The Tasting Room serving a wide selection of delicious wines and beer form Saint Arnold. Freebirds showed of their catering skills by passing an assortment of mini burritos and luscious brownie bites. 9 p.m. signaled the close of the silent auction and there was a scramble to beat the highest bid. Auction items included beautiful flowers from Lexis Florist, wine tasting for 10 at Vintners Own Winery, salon experiences at Urban Retreat, SOK and Azur Salon, tickets to Houston Wine Fest, fitness certificates to Define Fitness Studio and CrossFit H-Town and gift baskets from St. Arnold and Pinot’s Palette. A special thanks was given to the event underwriters Andrews Kurth each night.

A highlight of the Saturday night event was the chance to contribute to the design of a ribbon of The Pink Ribbon Parade. Its presence encouraged some who came to only observe the interactive art exhibits to get their paint brushes dirty. “I wasn’t really sure I would know what to do when I got the paintbrush in my hand, but with the help of the artists, I really impressed myself with what I created,” commented guest, Tricia Eaton. Her husband, Jess Eaton, joined in the fun too, “I wasn’t really sure what to expect tonight, but this is a blast!”

Craig Ceccanti, Pinot’s Palette co-owner and CEO, commented, “I’m not surprised the guests showed up a little early both nights to nab one of the first seats at the painting table and have first pick at the duplicate paintings. Our guests tend to be infectiously enthusiastic.”  Charles Wills, co-owner and President, and his wife, Beth Willis, co-owner and Chief Creative Officer, remarked on the general spirit of the night, “the energy in this room really reflects what our classes are like every night – it’s all about making the most of night, discovering you can create something you (maybe) didn’t know you could and having a blast with friends.”

Guests departed with art, prizes, wine glasses, CultureMap eco-bags and a few 103.7 treats in hand, many overheard saying, “can’t wait to come back!”
