Over 250 medical professionals attended the meeting to take part in workshops covering medical topics related to Meaningful Use, billing, insurance, scheduling and revenue cycle management as well as information on the latest updates to PDS Cortex, a leading practice management software solution.
Attendees to the conference had the opportunity to mingle with PDS employees and other vendors, as well as network with other practices on challenges they face in today’s market.
Gary Hobbs, President of PDS started the conference by welcoming each of the attendees to PDS MindShare and addressed some of the issues medical practices face in today’s medical industry.
David Henriksen, Senior Vice President of McKesson gave the conference keynote, speaking on Meaningful Use and the impact that the medical industry over the next few years. Mr Henriksen pointed out that “by 2015, 18% of the US Gross Domestic Product (GDP) or $2.6 trillion will be spent on healthcare.”
He also mentioned that McKesson is involved with multiple facets of healthcare industry as over 200,000 providers rely on McKesson’s products and services such as Practice Partner EHR. To satisfy the ‘frontline’
The conference concluded with Michelle Taber, Manager of Systems Quality Assurance at PDS, presenting the details on updates to PDS Cortex and the highly anticipated release of PDS Cortex version 8.
