USA SHADE Secures Brent Norquist for Military Business Development

Sept. 27, 2011 - PRLog -- USA SHADE & Fabric Structures, Inc. is proud to announce the appointment of Brent Norquist as Vice President of Military Business Development based in Portland, Oregon.  Senior Vice President of Sales, Ashley Donde notes that, “Brent comes to us with an extensive amount of experience as a Lieutenant Colonel in the United States Marine Corps which is something we both honor and respect. He understands the many challenges for both buyers and vendors with regard to procuring product and the acquisition process in the military market place. With his experience, we are confident that he can bridge the gap so that our clients get the best available shade structures in the most timely and efficient manner.”

Lieutenant Colonel Norquist was born and raised in Portland, Oregon.  In 1985, he enlisted in the Marine Corps Reserve and, while a drilling reservist, attended Oregon State University.  At OSU, he enrolled in the US Marine Corps Platoon Leader’s Course and attended Marine Corps Officer Candidate School at Quantico, Virginia. As a Logistics Officer for Regimental Combat Team-7, 1st Marine Division, from February, 2004 through June of 2005, Lieutenant Colonel Norquist took part in multiple combat operations in Iraq. Norquist is a graduate of the US Army Combined Logistics Officer Advanced Course, where he graduated on the Commandant’s List and earned the Combined Arms Support Command Certificate of Achievement. His personal decorations also include the Legion of Merit, Bronze Star Medal, Meritorious Service Medal with one gold star, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal with two gold stars, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal with three gold stars, and the Combat Action Ribbon.

Lieutenant Colonel Norquist and his wife Melissa have two daughters, Ashley (18) and Emily (14). He retired from the Marine Corps after 26 years of service on September 1, 2011 and resides in Portland, Oregon.
