Franchising Success Through Business Training

Sept. 27, 2011 - PRLog -- A little over a year ago, a small travel company from Dorset (UK) embarked on an ambitious expansion program. All the more ambitious given the current financial climate.

One year on and over 50 travel franchises and travel partners later, www.NotJustTravel.co.uk is now 'officially' launching it's new travel franchise package.

Co-Founder Steve Witt, attributes the success so far to two key factors. Firstly it is thinking outside of the box. Developing a business model which specifically works within a recession and works well for our franchisees. Secondly, the business invests a significant amount of time and money in training. Not just about our products and services, but about how to run and be successful in a business.

Steve points out that "after a short space of time, we realised that many people who buy a franchise have never worked for themselves. Although they may have worked in the industry, they've never had to understand cash-flows, targets, marketing and above all, how to motivate themselves. We found that although many franchise's include this within their training, it isn't enough. We now devote 12 entire sessions to it over a 3 month period"

Not Just Travel has invested in the support of another local company to help grow it's own business and that of it's franchisees. They brought in 'business specialist' and mentor Charlie Haddon to work with each franchise and develop a foundation for success.

"Although we are very good at what we do, it make sense to bring in a specialist who's sole responsibility is to teach success. This allows us to focus on our travel business and products."

Charlie Haddon has developed a bespoke training course for the travel franchises which doesn't just teach core business skills, but also provides ongoing motivation and business development.  "If you build momentum from day one, this builds repetition and the success grows. We create a winning mindset and provide the skills to back this up"

Together Steve and Charlie run courses every month for the new franchisees and new training dates have been scheduled well into 2012.  

Although expanding within a difficult financial climate may seem risky, this is testament to what can be achieved. The two businesses working together have actually gone on to help 50+ businesses grow.
