Humber Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) Board recruitment drive closes

Sept. 27, 2011 - PRLog -- The LEP said it was delighted by the number of highly-qualified local business leaders who applied, all keen to join and help the LEP deliver its agenda for growth across the Humber.

Humber LEP Manager Richard Kendall said:

“We have been overwhelmed by the quality and number of applicants for both the LEP Board and our North Bank Sub Board.  The fact that so many well-qualified people, many of whom also have their own businesses to run, are willing to give up their time is very encouraging.  It shows again that there is a real determination to get behind the LEP and make it work.  

“The selection process for the two Chairs will begin next week, and for the Board and Sub Board after that.  I am confident that we will secure a strong Board and Sub Board that will drive forward our work and help to make the LEP and the Humber successful.”
Councillor Andy Burton, East Riding of Yorkshire Council's portfolio holder for economic development and regeneration said:

"The business community across the North Bank and the wider Humber is very diverse.  The number of applications to sit on the Boards is a strong indication that businesses recognise the value of cross-sector partnership working in meeting the area's numerous challenges and fantastic opportunities."

Hull City Council Leader Councillor Brady said: “With just six private sector places to fill on the North Bank board and so many applications it will be a challenging process but the high level of interest shows the huge support for the Humber LEP and North Bank Sub Board.

“We look forward to a strong team being in place for the LEP so we can work together to maximise the economic benefits for the region.”
