As an accomplished icon of motocross—one that contended multiple AMA and FIM championships, as well as a 3-time rider for the US Motocross of Nations Team—Ryan Hughes has done it all. He has also trained and coached a full spectrum of enthusiastic motocross racers; from true beginners to demanding professionals, Hughes has proven his knowledge and coaching as some of the best in motocross.
“Like my racing, I’ve been very fortunate to have the resources necessary to develop a successful program with my motocross schools” says Hughes. “With the help of GYTR, I can now take those resources and provide a great motocross clinic at facilities like the Otsego Club and their Great Lakes Grand Prix event”.
With the support of GYTR, Hughes will be hosting an all-day school on Friday, September 30th. Students will get the opportunity to ride the Great Lakes Grand Prix track prior to the race weekend, and get exceptional coaching and nutritional advice as part of Hughes integrated approach for fostering faster, more prepared, and safer riders come race day:
“Providing a program that not only helps a racer with their technique on the track, but also their bike setup, their nutrition, their fitness—these are the sorts of things that can create real change for a rider”, says Hughes.
To demonstrate those techniques even after the 1-day rider clinic is over, Ryan Hughes will be racing the Great Lakes Grand Prix as part of the $5,000 Pro Am classes the following Sunday. Hughes will also be hanging out throughout the weekend and enjoying all the fun activities that the premiere ski and golf resort has to offer.
“I think students will really enjoy the track and the atmosphere that the Otsego Club has to offer”, says Hughes. “From everything I’ve heard and seen about the Great Lakes Grand Prix, I’m really looking forward to getting out to Michigan and experiencing the event for myself.”
