What makes a car green?

Green or not green, we'll set apart what is and what's not. Electrics, hybrids, cars running on alternative fuels or fuel-efficient innovative regular cars, we'll cover only models with green credentials on our website.

Sept. 26, 2011 - PRLog -- What's a green car? Is it possible for a car to be green? We've heard many times about cars labeled "green" but it's hard to define precisely what they are. Some people say that hybrids and electrics are green. There's little doubt than a Toyota Prius is green, but you can get an hybrid power train on a Cadillac Escalade which is far from green. Even when hybrid. Hybrid tech makes the Escalade better, but not enough to gain green credentials.

Our idea is that we should define green cars the same way we define fast cars. Theoretically, fast cars should be easier to define because they come with numbers. We could say a fast car is one that goes from 0 to 60-mph in less than 7-seconds. Though most often, we don't look at numbers and think of fast cars simply as the fastest on the market. Of all cars available, the 10 percent that are the fastest may be called fast cars. Let's think of green cars the same way.

The most fuel-efficient cars on the market deserve to be called green, and that's what we'll write about. We shall add cars running on alternative fuels like natural gas because of its clean-burning properties, and all zero emission cars like electrics or cars running on hydrogen (with a fuel cell on board). Last, as progress moves the world, we shall write about any car which wasn't green, and hasn't become green, but has shown some significant progress towards becoming green.

We are http://www.motornature.com a web site dedicated to green cars and Earth-friendly transportation. We are based in Europe, which probably leads the world in green transportation, because of very high tax on automotive fuels. That's may be the best thing about being green. It's good for the planet, and for your wallet too.
