Chicago Ba Ba Bulli Taking Funding Matters To The People With Crowdfunding Via Indigogo

PRLog (Press Release) - Sep. 23, 2011 - Javier Haro closed his Spanish tapas restaurant HARO in 2008.  He then found himself struggling to find a job.  Javier had to re-invent himself. That’s when he decided to create his own job and a few others to help fellow struggling Chicagoans.

Indigogo has been helping people create campaigns and fund ideas since 2008.  Javier and countless others are using the social platform and opportunity to stimulate the local economy and “Take the Recession by the Horns”.

CrowdFunding (sometimes called crowd financing, crowd sourced capital) describes the collective cooperation, attention and trust by people who network and pool their money and other resources together, usually via the Internet, to support efforts for funding a startup company or business. Javier’s food truck Ba Ba Bulli sets out to be one of the first Spanish/Mexican mobile food trucks in Chicago.    As a Spanish tapas aficionado for the past five years and of Mexican descent, Javier felt a real calling to participate in the cuisine.  The name Ba Ba Bulli was inspired by forward-thinker Feran Adria better known as “El Bulli” ( www.elBulli.com ), the “Running of the Bulls” or encierro in Pamplona, Spain.  

Javier sees many new exciting opportunities in social media and the technology space for the restaurant community in Chicago and was also motivated by the twitter social media success of west coast food truck KOGI (www.kogibbq.com ).  Their Korean fusion Mexican tacos led to the culinary creation of the first Spanish fusion Mexican “Bullrrito”.  The cuisine is combining the better part of what is known as the peaceful “The Third Revolution” (www.madridfusionmex.com ). Spain and Mexico coming together to share and contribute to tourism and new culinary innovations and art that began in 2010, to celebrate the fusion of pre-Hispanic and Spanish cuisines giving rise to Mexican food. Other culinary contributions to the food truck will be to incorporate charcuterie, artisan cheeses, a variety of chili pepper salsas, and for the first time in Chicago artisan Galician canned seafood!

Javier is putting the word out and has set a 20,000 goal that will cover the cost to achieve things such as paying off the food truck, legal needs, equipment and supplies as well as permits, insurance and licenses.
