Metro Spotters Takes on Employee Theft by Providing Staff Integrity Checks to Bars/Restaurants/Clubs

Since 2005, Metro Spotters has been providing the finest in discreet service evaluations to the hospitality and retail industries in the Atlanta and New Orleans metropolitan areas.

PRLog - Sep. 23, 2011 - MARIETTA, Ga. -- ATLANTA, GA  – Adding to the increased difficulty of operating a business these days is the issue of internal employee theft. In the nightclub, restaurant and bar industries, it has been noted that internal alcohol theft costs bars and clubs anywhere from 24% to up to 30% of their gross sales.  With deterring theft and maintaining good employees a priority, businesses in the Atlanta area are finding a new ally in the battle for increased revenue and maximized customer bases in Metro Spotters.

Started in 2005, Metro Spotters aims to be a full-service partner for the hospitality and retail sectors, providing such services as mystery service evaluations and integrity reports, loss prevention analysis and even competition surveys. The organization works with business owners to quickly identify areas of loss, such as alcohol and other inventory “shrinkage”, sales,  and poor customer service as well as the employees behind those losses while effectively helping businesses lower operating costs and expenses, increase sales, maintain existing customers while expanding the customer base and improve staff quality and performance.

William Allen, President of Metro Spotters, saw a growing need from business owners in the Atlanta area to uncover ways to effectively grow their business and ensure that the employees they hire are keeping the company’s goals first and foremost. While serving as head of security at a number of South Florida nightclubs during his college years, Allen learned first-hand about the damaging effect that poorly trained and performing staff can have on a business’ bottom line. Allen recalls, “It was incredible to see an establishment that consistently maintained a high head count close after only a few months only to find out from the business owners that their costs increased while their profit decreased during the same time. After witnessing the staff’s behavior – including drinking on the job, poor customer service, theft and a large volume of unauthorized “comps” – the reason the businesses were shuttered became crystal clear.”

Revisiting these experiences and thanks to encounters with other businesses currently experiencing the same issues inspired Allen to create a service to provide owners with valuable insight as to how their employees perform when they are absent.  Says Allen, “Most employees are good…when the boss is around. As a business owner, you have limited options as far as monitoring their activities. You can’t work 24//7 and your GM can’t be everywhere at once. We envision Metro Spotters as your on-call, silent floor manager.”

In addition to servicing the Atlanta area, Metro Spotters also handles the New Orleans metropolitan area and hopes to expand its services throughout the Southeast. Kayla Young was recently named as the Director of Sales and Marketing for the Southeast Region.  For service inquiries in the New Orleans area, businesses can contact Kayla at metrospotters@gmail.com or via phone at 504-920-5138.
