Greater Morgantown CVB Sponsors Local Triathlete

Sept. 23, 2011 - PRLog -- The Greater Morgantown Convention & Visitors Bureau (GMCVB) announces their official sponsorship for Morgantown native, Lori Sherlock.  Sherlock is competing in the Ford Ironman 140.6 World Championship Triathlon in Kailua-Kona, Hawaii on October 8, 2011.

“The Greater Morgantown CVB is excited to partner & sponsor Lori on her trek to Hawaii.  Not only does this benefit her but allowed GMCVB to take advantage of a unique marketing opportunity in Morgantown, W.Va.  We wish her much luck and hope others will keep track of her training and race stats on our Web site and Facebook page,” said Cindy Coffindaffer, Director of Marketing.

The GMCVB designed the uniforms that Sherlock will wear throughout the triathlon, predominately showing the new GMCVB logo.  Fans can keep up-to-date with Sherlock’s adventure on both the GMCVB Facebook page, Tour Morgantown, and its Web site, www.TourMorgantown.com.

“Thanks to all for supporting sending me to Kona! I cannot express the positively overwhelming emotion of knowing that I have such amazing friends, family and community members,” stated Sherlock.

Sherlock recently returned from the Official Ironman 70.3 World Championship Triathlon in Lake Las Vegas in Henderson, Nev. She had an overall time of 5:20:53.

Born and raised in Morgantown, W.Va., Sherlock has been competing in triathlons for the past seven years.  Currently an assistant Exercise Physiology professor and former rower at West Virginia University (WVU), Sherlock is setting a good example for both her students and her community.  Sherlock is married to Brian Sherlock, Aquatics Director at Healthworks Rehab and Fitness.
