Sept. 23, 2011 - PRLog -- (Rock Rapids, IA) – Kirk Cameron (Fireproof, Growing Pains) and Richard Thomas (The Waltons) stars in The Miracle of the Cards, a new family film from Bridgestone Multimedia Group based on a true story about a young cancer patient.

After eight-year-old Craig Shergold is diagnosed with a brain tumor, his mother (Catherine Oxenberg) is convinced that launching a worldwide campaign to break the Guinness World Record for receiving greeting cards will lead to a cure. As his story spreads, a skeptical newspaper reporter (Cameron) travels from the United States to England to observe the events firsthand, unaware that the journey with Craig and the family will change his life forever.

“This is a heartwarming true story of love and faith in the face of death, not only by the family members, but also the doctors treating Craig, the thousands of people involved in the attempt to break the Guinness World Record, and the reporter himself,” said critic Carol Verbrugge from The Dove Foundation, which awarded the DVD its top rating of five doves.

Broadcast nationwide in 2001, The Miracle of the Cards was directed by Mark Griffiths and produced by Cloud Ten Pictures, whose Christian productions also include Waterproof, starring Burt Reynolds. The film marked the acting debut of Thomas Sangster as Craig Shergold. Today, Sangster provides the voice of Ferb on Disney Channel’s Phineas and Ferb.

Co-starring Karin Konoval and Peter Wingfield, The Miracle of the Cards was awarded Dove’s Family-Approved Seal and is available for $16.96 at http://www.gobmg.com/product/dvmc/.
