Dr. Ramakanta Panda and Akshay Kumar launches ”Asian Seva” for children, senior citizens

Asian Heart Institute, a world class cardiac care hospital has recently been in the news for performing the first robot assisted surgery in the city. The latest offering from the institute is ‘Asian Seva’ which has been formally inaugurated by Goodheart Ambassador Shri Akshay Kumar, today at Sri Shanmukhananda Chandrasekarendra Saraswathi Auditorium (Shanmukhananda Hall), Sion. More than thousand RDCA (Retail & Dispensing Chemists Association,Mumbai) members have attended the programme

Today around the world more than 1 million children are suffering from Heart Diseases which are there by birth. Out of million most of them are from the non-affording economy class. The treatment requires an expense which sometimes is more than their yearly family income. The exact reason for such diseases is still not known. The government is trying to help these people but the infrastructure is not sufficient. The same is the case with elderly people who are deprived of economical status and are generally living their second innings of life with some or the other heart problem. Even in their pensions it becomes difficult to get relevant treatment. ‘Asian Seva’ is an effort on behalf of Asian Heart team to bring expert cardiac treatment, surgery and care to the two most important segments of our society- children & senior citizens.

‘Asian Seva’ has been started to provide cardiac care at an economical price for children below 12 years & senior citizens above 65 years of age. The expert team of AHI Doctors will be operating on these patients.

Bollywood Superstar Shri Akshay Kumar is associated with Asian Seva as the Goodheart Ambassador & formally launched the service. Speaking on the occasion Shri Akshay Kumar said- “Dr. Panda & his team at Asian Heart Institute are an inspiration for many of us…This is the team that believes that ‘Every heart deserves the best’ and lives up to it each day. It is amazing how this team believes in giving back to the society, what the society has given them. Dr. Panda also took this opportunity & announced the commencement of the Chest Pain Clinic with a 24x7 helpline 126 126 ,at Asian Heart Institute. The Chest Pain Clinic has been started as a specialized unit to handle all heart emergencies round the clock. The Chest Pain Clinic has been formally inaugurated on this occasion by the renowned Asian Heart Institute team of Cardiologists, led by Dr. Dev B Pahlajani. Speaking on the Chest Pain Clinic , Dr. Pahlajani said “ Not all chest pains could mean emergencies, but there is no easy way to tell until you see a Doctor.
