NJ Lawyer Helps Homeowners Distressed by Flood and Hurricane Damages

New Jersey lawyer, Joshua Denbeaux of the Westwood, N.J. law firm , Denbeaux & Denbeaux, is offering free consultations to help answer questions for New Jersey residents impacted by Hurricane Irene and flooding caused by Tropical Storm Lee .

Sept. 26, 2011 - PRLog -- As a result of the presidential disaster declaration made August 31st, 2011 New Jersey residents who were impacted by Hurricane Irene may be eligible for Federal disaster relief under Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and state aid from the New Jersey Office of Emergency Management (NJOEM).

Due to the recent flooding caused by Tropical Storm Lee, a federal disaster declaration has been made for all 21 counties in New Jersey prompting New Jersey Governor Chris Christie to send a letter on September 8th to President Obama “requesting an expedited federal declaration of a major disaster for the entire state of New Jersey in order to ensure that state and local governments, as well as individually affected residents, receive federal assistance as quickly as possible for damage resulting from Tropical Storm Lee.”

Although there is federal disaster aid, homeowners are raising questions about what  to apply for and whether their home owner’s insurance covers damage, and about the subsequent value of their home as a result of the damage.
“If you have been flooded, or had your home damaged as a result of the recent storms we may be able to help.  Similarly, if you are concerned about the thousands of dollars required to fix your home, or the potential decreased value of your home due to the recent storms, we may be able to help, as well. Also if you owe more money to your mortgage company than your home is worth, whether you have had severe damage to your home or not, now might be a good time to come in and learn what your options are, “ says lawyer Joshua Denbeaux.

“We are offering free consultations to homeowners in the community to discuss their situations and advise them as to their rights and options. We are a local law firm in Westwood, New Jersey. We are part of the community and want to help. We specialize in representing homeowners and we want to help people affected by the floods.”

“Residents can call to make the free appointment, and bring their homeowners and/or flood insurance policies (not just the first page but the entire policy), their closing documents from the purchase or refinance of their home and any other information they would like an attorney to review. We will provide them with up to one hour of time with a knowledgeable and skilled attorney for free.  If they ultimately need legal representation related to problems with the flooding and water damage, we will represent them at significantly reduced rates,” advised attorney Joshua Denbeaux.
