Toastmasters International President, Michael Notaro Receives Keys To The City In Jersey City

Sept. 22, 2011 - PRLog -- Michael Notaro, DTM, President of Toastmasters International, will be the special guest on September 23, 2011 at a special gathering of Toastmasters and the community at the City Council Chambers of the City Hall in Jersey City.  The event, which will begin at 6:30 p.m., will honor Toastmasters International for its work in improving the communication and leadership skills of its members and Mr. Notaro as its President.  A proclamation extolling the efforts of Toastmasters International will be presented by the City of Jersey City.  Expected to attend are members of various Toastmasters Clubs in New Jersey and New York.  Members of the Jersey City community and neighboring towns have also been invited.

Toastmasters International is the leading worldwide organization whose primary goal is to develop leaders by making effective oral communication a worldwide reality.  Currently, there are more than 270,000 Toastmasters who are members in over 13,000 Clubs in 116 countries around the world.  More than 150 of these Toastmasters Clubs are assigned to District 83 which consists of North and Central New Jersey and includes Rockland County and Staten Island in New York.  Seven of these Clubs are located in Jersey City.  Mr. Notaro, an attorney from Alameda, California, is making an official visit to District 83.

The event is being coordinated by the Jersey Toastmasters Club in Jersey City led by Club President Antonio N. Figueroa, DTM/PDG.  The Jersey Toastmasters Club, which celebrated its 15th anniversary last July, meets on the 4th floor of 35 Journal Square, Jersey City every second and fourth Friday of the month.
