Mamiverse.com and Target Partner to Honor Latina Moms

Mamiverse.com embarks upon an unprecedented national campaign to highlight the contributions that Latina moms every day in their communities and beyond

Sept. 20, 2011 - PRLog -- MAMIVERSE.com, a lifestyle, news, and social media web site for Latina moms and daughters, is proud to announce a new campaign, in partnership with Target Corporation, Latina Moms Changing America.  MAMIVERSE.com will honor 10 Latina moms who are not only making a difference in their homes but also a positive impact within their communities, with a $5,000 Target GiftCard as the grand prize. The national search kicked off on September 19, coinciding with Hispanic Heritage Month, and will continue throughout the fall, with honorees selected on December 20.

“We are thrilled about this opportunity to honor Latina moms in America by celebrating the many contributions of Hispanic women who reach above and beyond what is expected of them.” says Rene Alegria, founder and CEO of Mamiverse Media.

Latina Moms Changing America is the first of many efforts to come from MAMIVERSE.com that will recognize and pay tribute to inspiring, remarkable Latina women.  “Family is at the core of Hispanic American life. MAMIVERSE.com was created to put a broad face and voice to Latina moms and family. As a mom, I am extremely proud to be able to celebrate us in such a significant way,” says Carmen Wong Ulrich, a MAMIVERSE.com contributor, nationally recognized television journalist, and personal finance expert.

Readers are able to nominate themselves, their mothers, daughters, sisters, neighbors, co-workers and friends (if they are moms) via www.mamiverse.com as of September 19. The submissions process will close on November 15. The top 25 moms will be selected as follows: 50% based on public online voting and 50% based on the votes of a panel selected by MAMIVERSE.com and will appear on the site as finalists. Through a collaborative voting process, MAMIVERSE.com readers will be able to vote for their favorite honorees, narrowing the top 25 finalists down to the top 10 honorees over a four week time period.

The grand prize honoree will receive a Target GiftCard valued at $5,000.  The silver honoree will receive a Target GiftCard valued at $2,500 and the bronze honoree will receive a Target GiftCard valued at $1,000. Seven honorees in the top 10 will receive a $500 Target GiftCard. Target, one of the nation’s largest retailers, is the exclusive retail advertising partner for MAMIVERSE.com.
