This is the inaugural year for the Urban Bike Adventure created by Jason Kelly. Charleston was chosen as a stop on the Urban Bike Adventure tour because of the city’s rich history and continual growth as a bike-friendly city. The tour includes ten major cities throughout the country, including Minneapolis, Pittsburgh, Indianapolis, Baltimore, Washington, D.C., Tampa and Miami.
The Urban Bike Adventure is designed for participants of all skill levels. From the casual biker to the commuter to the triathlete; everyone can participate in this race. “Most teams participate just for the laughs and memories of discovering the city in a new way, but some will compete to win it all,” Kelly said, “either way, a lot of our participants will forget they’re even in a race and just have fun.”
Participants will compete in teams of two or three to post the fastest time in completing the checkpoints and earn top prizes. Online registration is available at http://www.urbanbikeadventure.com.
