From aqua jogging to cycling: alternative training methods to running

For many people running is an one-sided sport. Alternative sports such as cycling and swimming can be a great option.

Cycling, swimming, walking, weight training or in-line skating are perfect to attend the training in another endurance sport. In particular on cold winter days many hobby runners rearrange their training inside on the treadmill. Alternative sports such as aqua jogging, dancing or weight training with free weights and cardiovascular equipment give the opportunity for more variety.
To avoid muscle dysfunction, stretching and strength exercises are necessary anyway. In focus are the course stressed muscles during walking. The strength- and resistance training stabilizes the body and helps prevent injuries. In each case a fitness trainer should be consulted to integrate the exercises perfectly in the running program.
