Sept. 19, 2011 - PRLog -- In the United States of America we have freedoms, and this weekend at a local fair those freedoms may have been violated.   Pro-animal rights supporters, from the group Hope for Hempstead Animal Shelters were denied their liberties when the Bellmore Fair event organizers prevented literature from being distributed and cornered off the animal supporters.

Gary Port, Democratic Candidate for Hempstead Town Supervisor was at the fair distributing his campaign materials and was able to video the incident.

“As long as our town is controlled by a one party system we will never have true freedom, and our animals shelter will continue to be a dumping ground for patronage while animals are mistreated and abused,” stated Port.

The incident ended with the Animal supporters putting down their literature, and picking up Gary Port’s campaign material.

Gary Port is the Democratic Candidate for Hempstead Town Supervisor, a Lieutenant Colonel in the United States Army Reserve, partner in Port and Sava, Scoutmaster, founding member of the West Hempstead Chamber of Commerce, and a family man with four children.
