Follow on Google News | Women Gamers Week headed to website of Video Gaming PersonalityTexas-based gaming vet hopes profiles of female gamers will help fight gaming stereotypes
By: Bailey Q - PSP PR Dept. The 30 year veteran of video gaming hopes this special feature will help women gamers be seen for who they are. "Some of the most hardcore gamers I've ever encountered are women," Patterson said. "However, even though the industry stats show more women game than ever before, I still see a lot of misconceptions and stereotyping toward this huge part of gaming culture. I hope this feature will help change that in the gaming communities where it still remains." Seven women from various walks of the video gaming world have been interviewed and each will receive their own feature profile story. These include noted pro gamer Amy Brady, Washington state collectors Elizabeth "Ebo" Hanning and Catherine DeSpira, gaming freelancer Raychul Moore, former International Video Game Hall of Fame president Liz Bolinger, and gaming journalists Colette Bennett and Rachel Lara. One to three more profiles may also be featured and announced in the coming days, according to Patterson. PatrickScottPatterson.com's Women Gamers Week starts Sunday, September 18 and runs through Saturday, September 24 and can be seen at http://www.PatrickScottPatterson.com. # # # Video gaming personality Patrick Scott Patterson - Video gaming historian, columnist, gamer and activist travels to events across the country.
