Launches New Sports Specific Training ProgramsOvertime Sports Facility’s KSTRENGTH Sports Training will be launching new training programs for middle school to professional athletes. These new programs are designed to set the standard of the way athletes are trained in the tri-state area.
By: Kevin Ensenat With the rise of young athletes playing a single sport or multiple sports at a highly competitive level year round the instances of repetitive stress and other athletic injuries are on the rise. These injuries once predominantly seen in college and professional athletes are affecting athletes at a much younger age. Now, more than ever young athletes need to be properly supervised and prescribed proper training programs to address the individual needs of each athlete’s unique genetic and physiological limitations. Equally as Important are addressing the common areas of overuse in specific sports. By strengthening these areas and correcting muscle and flexibility imbalances many of these aforementioned injuries can possibly be prevented. The other major benefit seen by correcting these weak areas is the improvement of performance on the field. These benefits may dramatically increase an athlete’s confidence levels and participation in sports and a healthy lifestyle. The second major concern with athletes is the lack of proper nutrition. Poor food choices not only decrease the ability to perform sports skills and activities optimally but lead to other major health problems such as obesity, insulin resistance, heart disease and diabetes at a much younger age. These diseases once seen predominantly during middle age and above are affecting young kids at an alarming rate. To address these issues our new programs place a much higher emphasis on nutrition than ever before. All athletes receive nutritional guidelines specific to their own biological needs and activity level. They will also be provided food logs to monitor their eating patterns and compliance. This will not only improve results but help to educate these athletes in proper dietary habits. KSTRENGTH Sports Training provides athletic training programs encompassing total athletic development and healthy lifestyle. Programs include customized strength training workouts, speed and agility programs, nutrition program and food log, stretching and conditioning programs.
