Big River Receives Patriot Award

PRLog (Press Release) - Sep. 15, 2011 - Big River Telephone Company has been awarded the prestigious Patriot Award from the Missouri National Guard and the Employer Support of The Guard and Reserve.  This award was presented to Kevin Cantwell who accepted this on behalf of Big River.

The Patriot Award is awarded to employers who show exceptional support for their National Guard employees.  James Eakin, a member of Big River Telephone’s Network Operations Center, is an E4 – Specialist with the Missouri National Guard.  Eakin has been called on numerous times over the past year to assist in the many natural disasters that have impacted the region.  “Big River has always been very supportive of my army service and gives me the flexibility to respond for duty when duty calls,” says Eakin, “I am proud to be a member of the National Guard and to work for an organization that believes in me.”

James Eakin has served with the National Guard since August of 2006 and has been a member of the Big River team since 2008.  “James is a tremendous asset to Big River and even more of an asset to the community.  His service to the National Guard is respected and honored by everyone at Big River.  We appreciate all that he does for us, our customers and the region,” says Kevin Cantwell, President of Big River Telephone.
