By: IMTI Beginning September 19 IMTI evening training programs for electrical technicians will be for residential, commercial and industrial electrical wiring. Classes will be held Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays 6:00 to 10:00 PM. Day classes in electrical technician training are also offered Mondays through Thursdays from 8:00 A.M. to 2:30 P.M. Students will learn about the communications field and burglar/fire alarm systems, and will receive a combination of theory and practical hands-on training. In addition to the potential to become self-employed electrical contractors, graduates will be eligible to apply for entry level positions as an electrical apprentice; telecommunications technician; burglar/fire alarm installation and repair specialist; cable installer; motor repair service technician; or a maintenance electrician for manufacturers and large commercial building operators. IMTI’s day and evening programs for electrical technicians are 19 months, 900 hours in length. Founded by Marcel Veronneau at 233 Mill Street in Waterbury in 1986, IMTI, with a satellite technical school in the Consolidated Edison Learning Center in Long Island City in Queens, New York, has been successfully training electricians, plumbers, electronic systems and HVAC technicians in current technologies and job skills. All IMTI programs are career-oriented with classroom curriculums that include education as well as hands-on industry skills training. One recent electrical technician IMTI graduate, Anthony Richards, contacted to his IMTI instructor, Joseph Cicchelli, to express his gratitude for the training he received. Mr. Richards wrote, “It’s been a little over one year since I proudly graduated from IMTI, and I’m currently listed as a journeyman on all jobs I go on now. My new found knowledge and insight into the electrical trade has grabbed the attention of my bosses and my peers. I feel more confident, self-assured and familiar with the trade than ever before. You’re a great teacher/general manager and Jack-Of-All- IMTI is approved by The State of Connecticut, The National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER), and Licensed by the State of New York, and accredited by the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges. Veronneau stated, “We are open seven days every week.
