Jim Caraccio has been promoted to vice president and general manager of Logic PD’s west coast operations. Caraccio will lead the new office that currently employs eight people and aims to employ 12 by the end of the year. The office will include industrial, mechanical, electrical, wireless and software engineers, sales professionals and program managers. Logic PD employs 520 people worldwide and plans to hire at least 50 people by the end of the year to service its growth areas in product design, development and manufacturing.
“Our clients are focused on developing products centered on ease-of-use combined with sophisticated technology for customer adoption,” said Caraccio. “The need for proven product development and introduction expertise across regulated markets is accelerating rapidly, especially with increased complexity of wireless devices and the entrance of new operating systems like Android. In the race to get products to market faster with less risk, Logic PD provides customers with a one-stop shop from product design to manufacturing to accelerate the entire product development process.”
Caraccio has over 25 years of experience working with original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) in the electronics industry. He joined Logic PD in 2009, as the director of sales for the western U.S. where he established a strong presence for the company. Prior to joining Logic PD, Caraccio spent more than 20 years at Arrow Electronics. There he helped technology companies develop, launch and support products by creating and managing several dedicated programs, including AS/ALT (Arrow Schweber, ALTera) that was designed to support Tier 1 supplier’s technology driven products. Caraccio led the team to achieved 40 percent year-over-year growth.
Caraccio also launched ACES (Arrow Consulting Engineering Services), an outsourced engineering services program, which influenced more than $50 million in annual sales and has grown year-over-year since its inception in 2000. Earlier in his career at Arrow, Caraccio supported all military and aerospace (mil/aero) OEMs in San Diego. He earned a bachelor’s degree in business from California State University, Fullerton.
To further support this expansion, Logic PD has also appointed Peter Mayhew as the director of west coast sales. Mayhew joined Logic PD with 10 years of experience selling technical services and products. He joined Logic PD from Manpower Professional Engineering Services, a provider of innovative workforce solutions, Prior to Manpower, Mayhew spent four years as the director of sales at LS Research (LSR), a wireless product development company specializing in RF design. At LSR, Mayhew promoted LSR’s wireless design services and products in the western Unites States.
He also cultivated strong relationships with Texas Instruments, Freescale and other OEMs to increase sales leads by 60 percent, and he created and managed distribution partnerships with Avnet, Mouser and Arrow Electronics. He created and managed the LSR Smart Energy Product Group which led to several exclusive partner agreements to promote and sell the LSR Smart Energy product line. Prior to LSR, Mayhew served as a business development manager for Clarity Design, a full-service engineering, design, manufacturing and integration company, and a technical account manager for Arrow Electronics.
