Work Hard - Work Smart with the Wichita Falls Chamber of Commerce & Industry announces over 50 employers have signed the Letter of Commitment considering the National Career Readiness Certificate during the interview process.

The National Career Readiness Certificate helps match entry jobs to prospective employees who possess the certificate. Some of the other benefits for employers committing to recognize the National Career Readiness Certificate are: help in locating qualified applicants, shortening the training and orientation process, increasing productivity by recommending or considering the National Career Readiness Certificate for job opportunities, increasing retention and the opportunity to retain, create and attract jobs. Any employer can sign a letter of commitment, and the best part is that it is free.

All of the Wichita county high schools are preparing to take the National Career Readiness Certificate assessment during October and November of 2011. Every high school senior in Wichita County will have the opportunity to take the National Career Readiness Certificate assessment for free. Region 9, Workforce Solutions – North Texas and Vernon College are ready for participants to start taking the assessment at their locations. You can schedule your assessment through the Work Hard-Work Smart office.  “The National Career Readiness Certificate will be an excellent way to measure the readiness of applicants to step into a position and go right to work," says Tammy Guerra, City of Wichita Falls Human Resources Manager, “We look forward to a qualified applicant pool and positive outcomes from this initiative.”
