Sept. 14, 2011 - PRLog -- In 2008, when Michael and Stephanie Goins opened My Wonderful Walls in their hometown of Chattanooga, Tennessee, they had no idea that the Internet-based wall art company, specializing in reusable wall stencils, unique wall stickers, and decorative canvas wall art, would become an internationally known company. Their stencils and wall art – created especially for kid’s rooms and nurseries – is manufactured in their Chattanooga workshop, and that hometown production control allows them to work with charitable groups to bring the beauty and life of their products all over the world.

Recently My Wonderful Walls had the unique opportunity to partner with a group of students from Wildwood School in LA, as the children went on a community involvement trip to an orphanage in Gobrovo, Bulgaria. The kids worked with other Bulgarian students to help clean up and bring life to the drab and outdated walls of the orphanage in hopes that the beautiful wall murals and paint colors would likewise brighten the hearts and lives of the children that live at the orphanage.

Given the popularity of their wall stencil kits, as well as their unique and easy-to-use features, it was no surprise that the teacher in charge of the trip chose two of My Wonderful Walls’ most popular designs for their mural projects. In addition to the kits’ simple procedures and flawless application process, the teacher was very excited about the fact that each stencil is reusable, as it allowed them to place murals in bedrooms and in hallways throughout the orphanage. Thus, the students were able to brighten up the entire campus in a short time.

They bright paint colors instantly turned the once bleak walls of the orphanage into lush, green farmlands and vibrant flower fields – images that will let the orphans’ imaginations and spirits soar.

The Goins’  love that their wall stencils enable others to brighten the lives of children in need, and were excited for the chance to work with students in the process. The couple has worked hard to ensure that their wall art products are accessible, easy, reusable, and durable, and their wall stencils definitely proved to do all that and more when put to the test in Bulgaria.

The best part of all is that the students were able to play a truly hands-on part in their community service project, giving the orphanage and its children something that will last a lifetime. Even though there was a language barrier, the beauty of art carries across languages and allows people everywhere to speak the same universal language: love, hope, and gratitude.
