TRI Recycles Electronics And Raises Funds For San Bernardino USD

TRI Products, Inc. reported 21,566 pounds of e-waste were collected and $1078 raised for the San Bernardino City’s CaSA Foundation
Sept. 13, 2011 - PRLog -- San Bernardino, CA – On August 27 & 28, the Community and School Alliances Foundation, better known as CaSA, hosted an electronics waste collection event to raise money for mini grants to help teachers in the San Bernardino City Unified School District.  This special event provided a tremendous opportunity for the entire city of San Bernardino and surrounding communities to properly dispose of obsolete monitors, televisions, computers, printers, copiers, fax machines and cell phones.

This free collection event was held at San Bernardino City Unified School District Office. Consumers dropped off their obsolete consumer electronics at the TRI Products, Inc. truck located at the district’s parking lot.  At the event, TRI Products collected 21,566 pounds of electronic waste, making this their largest collection in the city to date.   Proceeds of $1078 from recycled items collected at this event went to the CaSA Foundation, a non-profit community-based organization that committed to improving the quality of education in the San Bernardino City Unified School District.  Through its mini grants, the CaSA foundation will support innovative classroom programs that will enrich the education of youngsters in grades K-12.

“We hope that the business and resident communities will visit our website and get the message that we are committed to the preservation of the environment and are ready to assist in any way possible,” Event Assistant Chris Garcia said.  “In the age of increased identify thief, protection of our client’s data is our top priority.   TRI Products (http://www.ewaste4u.com/index.html) can guarantee on-site hard drive data destruction and generate all pertinent documentation for you as well as for the state.”

San Bernardino City Unified School District and CaSA Foundation partnered up with TRI Products Inc., a California EPA certified company specializing in the collection and recycling of electronic waste. This joint effort increases awareness about the importance of recycling and provides an easy and cost-free way for consumers to properly dispose of their electronics.

“It makes so much sense for non-profits to raise money by recycling old electronics,” explains Chris Garcia of http://www.ewaste4u.com/index.html.  The electronics have an asset value that’s worth more than in mass to the charity than the trouble for an individual to reclaim.  Also it’s good for the environment and allows people to clean out their garage without waiting months for the next Hazardous Waste Collection in the area.  “

Most consumers recognize that the effects of hazardous materials in electronics can best be combated by recycling. The act of recycling prevents the potential contamination of water resources and helps preserve the earth’s environment. The public’s desire to participate in the responsible disposal of their consumer electronics has been answered with TRI Products collection events.   As of 2007, state law made it illegal to dispose of these materials by throwing them into the garbage. The California Integrated Waste Management Board can impose fines of up to $2,500 for violations.
TRI Products, a state approved company recycles e-waste, will take the items and recycle them in a safe and responsible manner.

Companies with a large number of items to dispose should contact TRI Products at 1-877-866-0128 to arrange free electronics recycling.
