CCME CARES

Orlando, FL. 9/12/11 - At the annual CCME conference last year Capella University hosted a care package drive with USA Cares.  The CCME attendees had a great time crafting letters of thanks to service members and organizing care packages as reminders of gratitude from home.  They were able to send dozens of packages to troops overseas.

This coming year at the 13-16 February 2012 Symposium at the Renaissance Orlando at Sea World, CCME will kick off with a similar event so that those in attendance can participate in a heartfelt way to show our thanks to our men and women in uniform. According to program chair Nicole Lovald, “CCME will be soliciting donations from member institutions to provide boxes filled with items that the deployed service members have been asking for in their conversations with their families and friends and the representatives of the schools they attend while overseas.”

CCME Vice President Elect Randy Plunkett states, ““This is a small way for us to give back to those who are willing to sacrifice all for us.  These care packages bring a piece of home to those serving in the military, and people who participate in the process find great satisfaction knowing that what they put together will bring smiles to people far from their families.”

Please plan to join us for an exciting and informative symposium. Visit the CCME website at www.ccmeonline.org to register and to make your hotel reservations.
