Washington, D.C (September 12, 2011) – CD Enterprises brings the “Generation LASER” tour to Maryland. Headliner Lupe Fiasco and opening acts, Big Sean, Wale and Tinie Tempah will grace the stage Friday, September 16, 2011 at the Merriweather Post Pavilion.

Lupe Fiasco was born in Chicago and raised in Harvey, Illinois. With early influences from jazz music and a conscious upbringing, Lupe cultivated a unique sound and was signed to Atlantic records in 2005. To date, Lupe has released three albums, including his 2006 debut “Food & Liquor”, 2007’s “The Cool” and his highest-selling album to date, “Lasers”.

Sean Michael Anderson, better known as Big Sean, is a rising hip-hop artist signed to Def Jam Recordings. After making a name for himself participating in weekly rap battles for a local Detroit radio station, Anderson made a play for the big time, auditioning for Kanye West while he was visiting a Detroit radio station. Two years later, West signed Anderson to his G.O.O.D Music label and then a year later, to Def Jam. Anderson made his first main stream appearance at the 2010 BET Hip-Hop Awards, participating in the “Cypher” alongside his mentor, West, and other notable rap artist. Big Sean released his debut album “Finally Famous” earlier this year.  

Wale Folarin, a proud D.C “representer”, is an up and coming hip-hop artist. Wale, who first made a name for himself locally, infusing hip-hop with locally popular go-go songs, first gained national attention with the release of his third mixtape, 100 Miles & Running, which included features from Mark Ronson, Daniel Merriweather, Amy Winehouse and Lilly Allen. Wale’s work with Ronson led to a Highline Ballroom Performance where Wale was interviewed by MTV news and landed his first national TV feature.  In 2008, Wale signed to Interscope records where he released his debut album “Attention Deficit” featuring hit singles “Chillin” and “Pretty Girls”. Wale is currently signed to Maybach Music Group where he continues to make music and expand his audience.

Tinie Tempah is a British rapper who gained acclaim through showcasing his talents on mixtapes, freestyles and remix features. After making a name for himself while on an independent label, Tinie Tempah signed with Parlophone records and released his debut album, 2010s “Disc-Overy”. Tinie Tempah has been a featured artist on the OMG Tour as well as 4 dates on Rihanna’s Loud Tour. Tinie Tempah continues to make music and break into the US market.
