Follow on Google News | WakeMed Physician Practices Continues to Grow Primary Care NetworkWakeMed Health & Hospitals continues to expand its access in Wake County with the acquisition of two urgent care practices in Raleigh and Cary, as well as the acquisition and establishment of new primary care practices in north Raleigh and Apex.
By: Heather Monackey On October 1, WakeMed will welcome Accent Urgent Care to the WakeMed Physician Practices network, including two locations in Raleigh and Cary. The Cary location is adjacent to WakeMed Cary Hospital and the Raleigh location is near the corner of Blue Ridge and Harden Road. With more than a dozen providers including both physicians and physician assistants, Accent Urgent Care provides convenient urgent care services seven days a week to both adults and children of all ages. WakeMed is also proud to announce the acquisition of North Wake Internal Medicine, a well-established primary care practice in north Raleigh. On November 1, WakeMed will welcome Susheel Atree, MD; Behnaz Atree, MD; and Rosa Messer, MD to the growing WakeMed Physician Practices network. The practice is located at WakeMed North Healthplex and will soon relocate to the adjacent building, the Physicians Office Pavilion at North Healthplex to accommodate the expansion of North Healthplex into a full-service women’s hospital. On June 1, WakeMed Physician Practices established a new family medicine practice in Apex – Wake Specialty Physicians – Apex Medical Group. The practice is located in WakeMed Apex Healthplex and features Dr. Ragini Madan, who brings 25 years of family medicine experience. Several new physicians are also joining WakeMed’s existing primary care practices throughout the summer and fall. Amy Erickson, DO, joined Brier Creek Medical Group in August as a board-certified family medicine physician with experience practicing family medicine in private practice as well as in the U.S. Air Force. She received her medical degree in osteopathic medicine from the University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine, Biddeford, ME and completed her residency in family practice at Albany Medical College. Brian Klausner, MD, is board certified in internal medicine, and will join City Center Medical Group in downtown Raleigh this September.
