Songwriter Ryan Martinez among winners of global Avon Voices Songwriting Contest

Sept. 11, 2011 - PRLog -- Los Angeles based songwriter Ryan Martinez and writer/producer Stacy Hogan of Nashville have been announced as co-winners of the international Avon Voices Songwriting Competition for their outstanding pop ballad "Fearless is Beautiful."

The contest, running concurrently with the Avon Voices Singing Talent Search, was open to songwriters in over sixty countries and received thousands of entries.  The judging panel included songwriting legend and Grammy winner Diane Warren, international pop star and six-time Grammy winner Fergie, Grammy nominee Natasha Bedingfield, Grammy winner Sheila E., Tony award winner Lea Salonga, and multi-platinum selling “Australian Artist of the Decade” Delta Goodrem.

“Fearless is Beautiful”, a contemporary track with a seductive beat, manages to incorporate the classic themes of hope and optimism while still sounding radio relevant.  Says Martinez: “I spent a lot of time on the song.  I wanted to accurately recreate the feeling of mystery and hopefulness that young women feel when starting out in life but without the usual clichés. Stacy’s musical embellishments and production just put the song over the top.”

Martinez is a veteran winner of several major songwriting contests, including Unisong as well as SongDoor while Hogan is a successful producer who specializes in long distance demo production work for aspiring singers and songwriters from all over the world with his studio “A Writer’s Paradise.”  

In 2007, Martinez and Hogan were also finalists in the American Idol Songwriting Contest.  Both have have worked and co-written with some of the biggest major label artists, producers and record companies in Europe, Asia and the United States since that time.

The Avon Voices Songwriting Competition Grand Prize winners receive a publishing contract, a slot on the Avon Voices Singing Talent Search winners' album, an all-expense-paid trip to New York City for the Avon Voices Finale on November 1st 2011, as well as an invitation to the Avon Foundation for Women Gala hosted by Fergie and Avon Chairman and CEO Andrea Jung on November 2nd 2011 at the New York Marriott Marquis in Times Square.

Grand Prize winners will be announced on September 19th, 2011.
