Fortress of Nightmares, Newport, RI, Seeks Zombies and Ghouls

PRLog (Press Release) - Sep. 9, 2011 - Break free from the status quo and delve deep into a world of nightmares come true. Fortress of Nightmares is looking for you to create a world of terror and panic. Every member of our all-volunteer staff helps create the perfect nightmare. Everyone from our box-office to gatekeepers and zombies all sustain the nightmarish atmosphere from beginning to end.

Each year more than 60 volunteers join together to help make this event a success year after year. Now in its seventh year, Fortress of Nightmares at Historic Fort Adams is actively seeking volunteers to fill various roles and positions. Those positions available range from box office sales staff, to actors and scare team members.

Fortress of Nightmares operates six nights each October. This year’s dates are October 21-23 and 28-30. Volunteers are asked to arrive by 5pm and can expect to leave by approximately 10pm. By volunteering with Fortress of Nightmares, you are helping to preserve Historic Fort Adams, a National Historic Landmark as well as fulfilling any community service hours. Not only are individuals encouraged to volunteer, but we encourage businesses and other civic groups to volunteer together as well.

Historic Fort Adams is operated by the Fort Adams Trust, a 501(c)3 non-profit Organiza-tion, whose mission is to direct and support the stabilization, restoration and maintenance and oper-ation of Fort Adams as a public historic site.  Proceeds from the Fortress of Nightmares will benefit the preservation of Historic Fort Adams.
