Nestled in the Dharni Taluka, Baigard is a small tribal land in Amravati District in Maharashtra. About 30 km from Dharni, the last tehsil in Amravati, Baigard was also known as the malnutrition capital of the state. The Kohle couple began working here at a time when there were no roads or medical facilities in this village. Seeing the sad state of affairs and the unchecked malnutrition conditions of people in the place, they decided to stay back and serve the community as best as they could. From training mid-wives and educating them on basic medical aid to inspiring the youth on experiments in agriculture, this couple worked tirelessly inspite of all odds. They found peace in what they were doing and dedicatedly went about providing health services to tribals in remote areas of Amravarti District. They have been doing this for 25 long years and there are many more to come!
