As part of our mission to promote mother-friendly childbirth options, Bloom Spokane is hosting our first-ever BIRTH! Film Festival—an all-day event showcasing many of the best and most amazing films about pregnancy, birth and babies around the world.

This event will raise money to fund our community outreach programs that educate families about local birth options and provide resources to help them make informed health care decisions.

Join us at 5:30pm for our feature film, Orgasmic Birth, and discover the powerful role birth plays in women's lives when they are permitted to experience it fully. The film will be followed by a panel discussion during which local childbirth professionals will answer your questions and discuss the film.

Bloom Spokane believes that all women deserve access to credible, accurate information about pregnancy and childbirth. As educated consumers, women are empowered to make informed health care decisions and choose maternity care providers who are best suited to their particular needs and wishes.

We recognize birth as a normal, healthy process—not an illness or disease. Women in our community should have the opportunity to birth instinctively and freely, whether they choose to give birth at home, a birth center or hospital. Families should be educated about their choices: the risks, the benefits and the alternatives. We want our pregnant and laboring mothers to be recognized and treated as individuals with their own sets of needs, desires and goals. Most importantly, the process of birth needs to be trusted, respected and unhindered.
