Sept. 16, 2011 - PRLog -- FUTURAWIND INC, a Los Angeles, California based wind turbine technology firm, announced today the opening of their new design and engineering office in Bakersfield, California. The location was selected due to its' close proximity to Tehachapi, one of the best wind turbine sites in California for prototype validation testing. The company plans to install prototypes for each power class in its' portfolio in the Tehachapi mountains over the next several years.

"Bakersfield is an unusually perfect fit for us at the moment for a variety of reasons," said Mr. Jody R. Shadden, President, adding, "we will be close to our headquarters in Los Angeles, close to both the Bakersfield and LAX airports, and most importantly close to an area where significant wind turbine projects are installed that we can use for validation testing of our designs." Mr. Shadden also noted that the wind energy workforce in the area is strong and that all key selection criteria were addressed in selecting the location for the design and engineering office.

Additionally, the company plans to partner with a wind turbine training company located in the area to provide client training programs covering all aspects of wind turbine manufacturing, installation, operation and maintenance, as part of their technology licensing package includes a comprehensive training course.

FUTURAWIND is currently designing a 1.5 MW wind turbine for Adithyawind Pvt Ltd in India, and in talks with several other potential clients for units ranging from 250 kW to 3.5 MW. The company enables their clients to begin production of wind turbines in less than twelve months, utilizing a highly refined toll-gate based design control process and design for six sigma (DFSS) methodology adopted from Mr. Shadden's experience working for General Electric in Spain and Clipper Windpower in California.

The design and engineering office location is 4705 New Horizon Blvd., Suite 3, Bakersfield, California 93313.
