Sept. 8, 2011 - PRLog -- BEGINNING AND CREATING A CULTURE OF “PEACE” NOT VIOLENCE!
Major R. Castleberry II is a Navy Veteran whose life work is rooted in one simple yet profound ideal: peace. Originally from Gary, Indiana, in 1982 he joined The U.S. Navy; stationed in Alameda, California, he served on an aircraft carrier—the U.S.S. Enterprise CVN-65—as an Aviation Flight Deck Electrician. After being honorably discharged in 1985, Major resumed his civilian life in Oakland and resolved to act on his lifelong dream, to become a patented inventor.
As an inventor, Major had always wanted to invent something that would address a real problem in society. He recognized that violence was a major problem predominately amongst juveniles and young adults, and that it was quickly spiraling out of control. Castleberry wanted his product to be tangible and relevant; representing the desires of the human majority in relation to a serious problem, and that his product could be personally ‘sported’, giving the consumer a personal voice insofar as he/she would reflect the ideal(s) expressed through the product.
The answer to Major’s quest was peace! Realizing peace is desired and hoped for by the majority of our human race, Major conceived of and created “The Peace Jersey!” Castleberry says, “‘The Peace Jersey’ was invented to address the senseless violence and murders; to promote peace to youth, gangs, schools and communities, and also to spread this U.S. patented, ‘custom-designed jersey’ and message throughout our world!” The purpose of “The Peace Jersey” is to provide all humanity with a positive product against violence by making “cool” once again the “golden rule” of peace through new fashion and streetwear clothing. Major’s company is named Major Concepts Co. and the current versions of “The Peace Jersey” feature our U.S.A. red, white and blue, and also black and silver for Oakland!
Mr. Castleberry visited and spoke with the late Editor of The Oakland Post, Mr. Chauncey Bailey—a sad irony—only a week prior to his senseless murder in the streets of Oakland. Bailey agreed to write an article featuring Major’s invention for peace but unfortunately, Chauncey never got a chance before his life was claimed as a result of indiscriminate violence. That meeting was not in vain! Thanks to Mr. Paul Cobb, current Editor of The Oakland Post, new life and light have been given to Major’s story and quest to stop the senseless violence amongst all people!
Mr. Castleberry has interviewed with NBC News 11 concerning “The Peace Jersey” and since has received a letter of commitment from B.E.T. (Black Entertainment Television), to commercially market “The Peace Jersey” to over 90 Million B.E.T. subscribers, or 88% of all cable households in the United States! Major is seeking investor(s) to finance the commercial marketing and manufacturing of “The Peace Jersey,” which is a finished product and developed in six sizes. Major has a sound business plan and a law firm behind “The Peace Jersey”; an investment of $150K to $300K is needed. Major R.
