Fort Worth, TX – September 9, 2011 – Texas’ largest children’s and maternity consignment sales event, Just Between Friends (JBF) of Fort Worth, is holding their seventeenth semi-annual children’s and maternity consignment sale.  This one-stop shopping sales event provides much-needed cost savings to thousands of Metroplex area families who are keeping an eye on the faltering economy.  The average shopper can expect to save 50% to 90% off retail pricing.   Additionally, the sales event benefits area charities.

Held at the Will Rogers Memorial Center in Fort Worth, September 23 – October 1, 2011, the semi-annual sale features hundreds of thousands of items that includes name-brand and boutique children’s fall, winter, and holiday attire; baby equipment, electronics, toys, and costumes for Halloween.  A portion of the sale’s proceeds as well as unsold items are donated to local charities, Community Enrichment Center’s Open Arms Program, Teen Lifeline, and Fort Worth Metro.

With humble beginnings in Morrison’s living room, Just Between Friends of Fort Worth has grown to an enormous sale requiring over 100,000 square feet of space.  Now in their seventeenth season, the upcoming event is expected to have record-breaking attendance.

Quotes:  Joanie Morrison, Co-Owner, Just Between Friends of Fort Worth

“With the economy wavering, families are more cautious than ever when it comes to spending money,” said Joanie Morrison, Co-Owner, Just Between Friends of Fort Worth.  “As a result, our fall sale is going to be the largest in our history.  After seventeen seasons we know what trends to watch for.  Based on early sign-ups, it is clear that Metroplex-area families are acting more budget conscious than ever.  Nearly everyone is searching for a way to save.  With our JBF Fort Worth sale saving families between 50%-90% off of retail pricing,  we are expecting literally hundreds of fervent, budget-minded shoppers to be lined up and waiting as we open the doors on the first day of our sale,” stated Morrison.

“Our sale is the largest in the state,” said Morrison.  “People come to JBF Fort Worth year after year as they know they will find an enormous selection of quality, safe items for their children.  Additionally, people really appreciate that we take serving DFW families a step further with our donations to our charity partners.”

Quotes:  Pam Willingham, Co-Owner, Just Between Friends of Fort Worth

“We are living in unprecedented times,” stated Pam Willingham, Co-owner, Just Between Friends of Fort Worth.  “Many families no longer have the luxury of paying retail prices for their children’s clothing, equipment, and toy needs.  The concept of JBF assists parents greatly with this challenge, especially this time of year.  With back-to-school expenses, Halloween, and the holidays fast approaching, families who are already stretched become anxious.  When they walk into our sale you can just see the relief and excitement on their faces as they find safe, quality items at 50%-90% of what they would have to pay at the mall,” she commented.

“We see people from all walks of life at a JBF sale,” commented Willingham.  Moms, dads, grandparents, aunts, teen moms, etc.  Also, it is interesting that there are people who carpool to our sale as well as those who drive up in Mercedes!  Some of them come to shop and some to consign their own items.  Most of them come to both consign and shop.  That way they sell items their children no longer can use or need, and then turn around and are able to buy new things without having to spend any “real” money.  And with our involvement with the area charities, a JBF Sale really is a win/win/win,” she said.

***Interviews with Morrison and/or Willingham may take place between now and sale end date of Sun, Oct 1st for advance taping or scheduling purposes.  Early opportunity for interview and visuals at Pre-Sale, Fri, Sept 23rd and Sat, Sept 24th***

About Just Between Friends - In 1997, Just Between Friends was created in a living room in Tulsa, OK when Shannon Wilburn, a mother of two young children, and her friend Daven Tackett hosted a sale, while inviting 17 friends to be consigners. Promoted only in their neighborhood, the gross sales reached approximately $2,000. That’s when the idea caught on. Each season, a new, larger event was held. In 2003, Wilburn and Tackett formed Just Between Friends Franchise Systems, Inc., and began developing and selling franchises. Currently Wilburn, now sole owner of Just Between Friends Franchise Systems, Inc., has 115 franchises in 24 states. JBF has received national attention on several television shows including ABC News, Good Morning America, CNN, Headline News, Inside Edition and CNBC’s The Big Idea as well as in broadcast outlets in dozens of cities across the country including Dallas-Fort Worth, Houston, Minneapolis, Denver and Seattle.
